Why NCM Beats Traditional Methods
Traditional circuit modeling attempts to mathematically recreate analog behavior through complex equations. Neural Component Modeling (NCM) takes a fundamentally different approach—our LSTM neural networks are trained directly on real analog hardware at 96kHz, learning the actual behavior including subtle nonlinearities, harmonic interactions, and frequency-dependent responses that equations simply cannot capture.
The result? Authentic analog character that responds dynamically to your input, just like the original hardware. Every nuance of tube saturation, transformer coloration, and component interaction is preserved in the neural model.
Intelligent Auto-Oversampling
Our neural models are trained at 96kHz to capture the full spectrum of analog behavior. When your session runs at 44.1kHz or 48kHz, La Crème automatically engages 2x oversampling to ensure the neural model operates at its native sample rate.
This means minimized aliasing artifacts and the same pristine sound quality regardless of your project sample rate. At 88.2kHz, 96kHz, or higher, oversampling is bypassed for maximum CPU efficiency—the model runs natively with no processing overhead.
