Advanced Dynamic IR
Technology
Standard tape plugins model the behavior of tape. Reelight Pro goes further — our proprietary Advanced Dynamic IR (Impulse Response) system captures the actual sonic signature of each machine in motion, not just at rest.
Combined with full DSP modeling, Hysteresis Processing, and a great-sounding resolver, Reelight Pro achieves the authentic "wow" factor that other plugins simply can't replicate. This is what tape actually sounds like.
The Reel Sound. Reimagined.
Every control that defined the analog tape era — beautifully recreated
Input, Output & Lock
The Input Gain works exactly as it does on a real analog tape recorder — the harder you hit the tape, the more saturation and compression you get. Push it and the machine responds. Back off and it breathes. The Lock feature lets you increase input gain with automatic output compensation, so you hear more saturation without any level jump.
- Input Gain: –24 dB to +24 dB, 0 dB center — tape drive control
- Lock: Auto gain compensation as you drive the input harder
- Output Gain: –24 dB to +24 dB for final level trimming
- The harder you push input, the more authentic the tape saturation response
Pre-Filters: HP & LP
Reelight Pro's filters use a 12 dB/oct analog design scheme for the most natural-sounding roll-off possible. As Pre-Filters, they shape your signal before it hits the tape algorithms — letting you control exactly which frequencies get processed by the machine.
- High Pass Filter: 20 Hz to 20 kHz, analog-style 12 dB/oct
- Low Pass Filter: 20 Hz to 20 kHz, analog-style 12 dB/oct
- Pre-signal chain placement — filters before tape processing
- Clean, natural response that doesn't color the sound artificially
6 Tape Machine Models
The heart of Reelight Pro. Six selectors — labeled A through F — give you instant access to six of the most sought-after tape machines in recording history. Each model has its own personality, frequency response, saturation character, and compression behavior. No two sound alike.
- Models A–F: Six distinct tape machines, each authentically modeled
- Different harmonic character, headroom, and saturation flavor per model
- Unique frequency response curves captured with Dynamic IR technology
- Combine with Speed and Bias controls to unlock each machine's range
Speed, Bias, Comp & Crosstalk
The controls that bring each tape machine to life. Speed changes the IPS setting — slow speeds add low-frequency warmth and noise; fast speeds tighten the sound. Bias adjusts the operating point of the machine for saturation control. Comp replicates the subtle envelope shaping of real tape. And Crosstalk adds the beloved "bleed" of adjacent tracks.
- Speed: Slow/Fast per machine — 3½ IPS to 30 IPS range depending on model
- Bias: Adjust tape machine bias for saturation shaping beyond Input Gain
- Comp: Emulate the envelope/compression characteristics of real tape
- Crosstalk: Dial in adjacent-track signal bleed for a natural mono-spatial effect
Up to 8x Oversampling
Tape is inherently analog — its bandwidth is infinite, its aliasing is zero. Reelight Pro's 2x to 8x oversampling closes the gap between digital and analog, smoothing the nonlinear saturation artifacts and pushing the sound even closer to the real thing. Use more oversampling when you have the CPU headroom; use less for tracking sessions.
- 2x Oversampling: Efficient for tracking and large sessions
- 4x Oversampling: Balanced quality/CPU for most mixing use
- 8x Oversampling: Maximum analog fidelity for final mix and mastering
- Smoother nonlinear saturation — the closer to tape, the better

Premium Benefits
Everything you need to bring the reel sound into your sessions
6 Tape Machines
Six meticulously modeled tape machines with unique characters — from warm vintage warmth to punchy modern tape sounds.
Autogain / Lock
Push the input harder without level jumps. Lock engages automatic gain compensation so you hear more saturation, not more volume.
A/B Compare
Instantly compare two settings side by side. Dial in the perfect tape character without second-guessing yourself.
Undo / Redo
Full undo and redo history. Explore freely — step back to any previous state without losing your work.
50+ Factory Presets
Get great tape sounds instantly with 50+ professionally crafted presets. Save your own and mark your favorites.
3 Activations
Use Reelight Pro on up to 3 machines simultaneously — studio, laptop, and home setup.
